ALTOONA, Pa. – Westminster College women's tennis team continued its fine season with a recent 7-2 non-conference win over Penn State-Altoona.
The doubles duos of Gia Francisco-Emma Sukal, Sabrina Slagle-Ryleigh Valone and Caroline Fox-Grace Askey swept Pro-set matches. Slagle (Upper St. Clair, Pa./Upper St. Clair High) is a senior and Sukal (PIttsburgh/Baldwin High) is a sophomore.
Singles winners for Westminster (8-2) were sophomore Francisco (Canfield, Ohio/Canfield High), sophomore Valone (Erie, Pa./Villa Maria Academy), junior Fox (Acton, Calif./Vazquez High) and first-year standout Askey.
Penn State-Altoona fell to 3-6.
Westminster travels to Grove City today for a Presidents' Athletic Conference match beginning at 4 p.m.
