NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Westminster College women's volleyball team continued its fine, late-season play with a 3-0 Presidents' Athletic Conference win over Franciscan University.
On Saturday afternoon in Buzz Ridl Gymnasium the Titans triumphed, 25-20, 25-22, 25-20.
It was the 3rd win in the last 4 matches for Westminster (3-7 PAC, 5-24 overall).
For Titans' taskmaster Tammy Swearingen, junior outside-hitter Lauren Lampus (Sarver, Pa./Freeport Area High) led with 11 kills, 20 digs, and 3 serving aces. Also contributing were junior setter Reanna Daniels (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory High), with 15 assists and 10 digs; junior middle-hitter Saylee Grinnen (Wampum, Pa./Ellwood City-Lincoln High), 7 kills; first-year outside-hitter Rachel Brady (Columbus, Pa./Corry High), 6 kills; first-year setter Angie Nardone (Ellwood City, Pa./Ellwood City High), 15 assists, and junior Libero Malia Duffy (Allison Park, Pa./North Allegheny High), with 23 digs and 2 assists.
Franciscan (2-8, 9-14) was led by Gabrielle Disselkamp and Renee Antonelli, with 13 and 10 kills, respectively; Grace Wallace with 28 assists and 15 digs, and Sara Moore with 35 digs. Antonelli added 17 digs.
