WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Westminster women's tennis team remained undefeated following a 9-0 shutout at Waynesburg in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Tuesday.
The Titans improved to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the PAC.
First-year
Emma Sukal (Pittsburgh, PA / Baldwin) won No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-3. She also teamed up with classmate
Gia Francisco (Canfield, OH / Canfield) to win 8-0 at No. 1 doubles. Winning complete 6-0, 6-0 singles shutouts were Francisco at No. 3, senior
Sara Small (Beaver, PA / Beaver Area) at No. 4, sophomore
Caroline Fox (Acton, CA / Vasquez) at No. 5, and first-year
Ryleigh Valone (Erie, PA / Villa Maria Academy) at No. 6.
The duos of Small and
Sabrina Slagle (Upper St. Clair, PA / Upper St. Clair) at No. 2 and Fox and Valone at No. 3 also earned 8-0 shutouts in doubles.
The Titans are back in action Friday, Oct. 1 with a home match vs. Geneva at 4:30 p.m.
