HERMITAGE, Pa. – The Westminster women's golf team continued their winning ways on Friday with a first-place finish out of six schools at the Thiel Fall Invitational at Avalon Golf and Country Club. Titan junior
Erika Hoover (New Castle, PA / Wilmington Area) was the medalist, her fifth career win, with a round of 77 – the third-lowest individual score in program history.
Westminster shot a team score of 332 - 41 strokes better than second place and the third lowest team score in program history.
Out of 39 total golfers, four Titans placed in the top-5 as junior
Kasey Clifford (Longport, NJ / Ocean City) followed Hoover with a second-place 80, sophomore
Sierra Richard (Beaver Falls, PA / Blackhawk) placed third with an 85, and senior
Jocelyn Behr (Murrysville, PA / Franklin Regional) tied for fourth with an 87 (who played as an individual). Sophomore
Morgan Byers (Venetia, PA / Peters Township) placed eighth with a 90 to round out the top-4 Titan scorers. Junior
Olivia Ledbetter (Tarrs, PA / Southmoreland), who also played as an individual, tied for ninth with a 92. Junior
Baylee Horvath (Murrysville, PA / Franklin Regional) finished tied for 14
th (96).
The Titans are back in action Thursday, September 23 with match-play event at Thiel.
