NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College men's tennis team won on the road on Wednesday by a score of 5-4 against Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Waynesburg University.
Westminster (2-2) won three of the six singles matches over Waynesburg (0-2), led by sophomore
George Oliver (Pittsburgh, PA / Quaker Valley) with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout in the No. 4 singles slot. Titan first-year
Jacob Mack (Carnegie, PA / Chartiers Valley) won at No. 5 singles by a score of 6-2, 6-4, while sophomore
Sam Scotford (Poland, OH / Poland Seminary) won at No. 6 singles (6-1, 6-0). Westminster earned its other two points in doubles matches, as Oberlin and Mack garnered an 8-0 shutout at No. 2 doubles, while Scotford and junior
Anthony Esposito (Brockway, PA / Brockway) scored an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles.
Westminster is back on the court on Friday April 9 with a match versus Geneva College at Blackhawk HS starting at 6 p.m.
