Women’s Soccer: Frank’s Hat Trick Lifts Titans Over Bearcats

LATROBE, Pa. – The Westminster College women's soccer team won, 4-0, against Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Saint Vincent College on the road Tuesday afternoon.

In the first half, Westminster (5-1-1, 5-1-1 PAC) immediately jumped on the board, scoring two goals within the first seven minutes of the contest to take a 2-0 lead. The Titans first goal came from junior Ashley McNabb (Grove City, PA / Grove City Area) off a pass from sophomore Julia Redilla (Cranberry Township, PA / Seneca Valley), while the second tally was scored by junior Ashley Frank (Mentor, OH / Mentor) with senior Skylar Bryant (Boardman, OH / Boardman) being credited with the assist. Westminster took that 2-0 lead over Saint Vincent (2-4-1, 2-4-1 PAC) into halftime. In the second half, Frank dazzled again, scoring two more goals in under two minutes in the 49th minute and the 51st minute to give the Titans a commanding 4-0 lead, a lead they held for the rest of the contest.

Frank's three goals were a career-high and marked the first hat trick of her career (also her first multi-goal game). Westminster outshot Saint Vincent (12-4) for the game and bested the Bearcats in shots on goals (6-2). The Titans also collected more corner kicks (6-1) in the contest. Titan junior goalkeeper Camille Holzschuh (Youngstown, OH / Boardman) got the win after making a pair of saves in just under 59 minutes. Classmate Emily Beck (Sarasota, FL / Cardinal Mooney) played the final 31:04 in net.

Westminster will return to the pitch on Saturday, April 17 when it takes on Franciscan University on the road in another conference matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m.
