Women’s Soccer: Titans Tie with Cougars in PAC Matchup

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster women's soccer team's home contest with Chatham ended in a 0-0 double overtime draw on Friday.

In the first half, Westminster (4-1-1, 4-1-1 PAC) gained offensive momentum from back-to-back shots on goal by sophomore Sophia Kaplan (Mentor, OH / Mentor) in the 21st minute. However, both shots were saved by Chatham (4-1-1, 4-1-1 PAC) goalkeeper Tyler Colburn. Junior goalkeeper Camille Holzschuh (Youngstown, OH / Boardman) recorded three saves for the Titans before halftime, leaving the game scoreless heading into the second half.

The Titans outshot the Cougars 10-4 in the second half, including five shots on goal, but were unable to break through, taking the game into overtime and double overtime, eventually finishing in a 0-0 tie. Westminster led Chatham in shots on goal (8-7) and corner kicks (7-6).

Kaplan and  Skylar Bryant (Boardman, OH / Boardman) led the team with a pair of shots on net each. Holzschuh recorded seven saves for Westminster, including two crucial stops in double overtime.

The Cougars were led by Morgan Anderson, who tallied five shots, including two shots on goal.
