Men’s Soccer: Titans Shut Out Thiel for First Win of Season on Senior Day

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College men's soccer team won, 2-0, against Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opponent Thiel on Senior Day Saturday afternoon.

The Titans came out strong with seven shot attempts before junior Sam Accordiono (Canfield, OH/ Canfield) threw the ball into first-year Kai Haseyama (Encinitas, CA / San Dieguito Academy) who flicked it to Nick Iregui (Gig Harbor, WA / Charles Wright Academy) for Westminster's first goal of the game (22:14). With the goal, Iregui extended his career points school record to 102. Westminster led 1-0 at halftime.

Westminster junior Nate Taylor (Pittsburgh, PA / Keystone Oaks) added an insurance goal, with his first of the season, at the 78:55 minute, off of a double-assist by Haseyama and junior Jimmy Boyle (Pittsburgh, PA / Chartiers Valley).

The Titans led in shots on goal, 15-2. Westminster sophomore goalkeeper Jad Jadallah (Canfield, OH / Canfield) made two saves in the first start of his collegiate career in a complete-game shutout.

Westminster will return to the pitch on Wednesday, March 31 taking on Grove City in a PAC matchup on the road. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
