Men’s Lacrosse: Titans Win Fourth-Straight Following Dominant Performance vs. Thiel

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College men's lacrosse team won in a dominant fashion, 22-3, against Thiel at home on Sunday. A total of 14 different Titans scored a goal for a complete team effort.
 
Junior Joe Rosa (Newton, NJ / Kittatinny Regional), sophomore Nick Hubner (Pittsburgh, PA / Plum), and first-year Payton Waight (Ithaca, NY / Ithaca) each had a team-high three goals (Hubner's career-high). Senior Jesse Dodd (Pittsburgh, PA / Mount Lebanon) and junior Shawn Kernaghan (Denver, PA / Cocalico) also had multiple goals with two apiece (Shawn Kernaghan's career-high). Sophomore Boyd Foster (Lincoln, RI / Lincoln) registered a game- and career-high four points, including a game- and career-best three assists. Sophomores Ryan Greer (Cranberry Twp, PA / Seneca Valley) and Hamish Mathwin (Marion, Australia / Westminster) both earned two assists and a goal for three points each.
 
Westminster junior Mike Roman (Fort Washington, PA / Germantown Academy) earned a game- and career-high seven caused turnovers (two more than the entire Thiel defense). Senior Romano Veneziano (Pittsburgh, PA / Pittsburgh Online Academy) and first-year Dino Mario D'Alesio  (Youngstown, OH / Cardinal Mooney) corralled a team-high seven ground balls each (career-high for both).
 
Titan junior goalie Ben Romah (Coraopolis, PA / Moon Area) got the start and earned his second win of the season, while gathering in a career-high four saves in 30 minutes of work.
 
Thiel (2-1) scored first, however Westminster (4-1) would not let the Tomcats score again until the beginning of the fourth quarter, while the Titans scored 16-straight.
 
Westminster will next play at Franciscan on Sat., March 27 with a 3 p.m. start, its final game before its Presidents' Athletic Conference schedule.
