NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College volleyball team defeated Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Saint Vincent College by a score of 3-0 (25-11, 25-20, 25-14) at home on Saturday afternoon.
Westminster (6-1, 6-0 PAC) started fast out of the gates, taking the first nine points of the match before Saint Vincent (0-5, 0-5 PAC) notched their first point. Westminster claimed a convincing 25-11 victory in the first set.
The Bearcats opened up a quick 8-6 lead in the second set, before the Titans took three of the next four points to knot the set up at nine apiece. Westminster went on another run, this time to the tune of five-straight points to take a 14-9 lead. Saint Vincent rallied back to tie the score at 20-20, however, another five-point run by the Titans closed out the second set. Maya Steward (Los Angeles, CA / William Howard Taft) delivered three of the final five points to seal the match.

Becky Adelman (Randolph, OH / Waterloo) led the offense with 12 kills and four blocks (both game-highs), followed by Steward with nine kills and nine digs. Sophomore
Kaylee Sciubba (Tarentum, PA / Deer Lakes) slammed down seven kills. First-year
Lauren Lampus (Sarver, PA / Freeport Area) totaled six kills and 11 digs, while senior
Megan Steele (Corry, PA / Corry) added five kills. First-year
Malia Duffy (Allison Park, PA / North Allegheny) led the defense with 21 digs.
Westminster will be back on the court on Thursday, March 25 on the road when it takes on the Grove City College Wolverines. Match time is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
