BETHANY W.V. – The Westminster College men's and women's cross country teams traveled to West Virginia to compete in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship meet on Saturday to wrap up their season.
The Titan women placed fourth out of the nine competing teams with 125 places points and a total time of 1:47.41, while the men finished seventh out of nine teams with 212 places, accumulating a total time of 1:36.50.
The women were led by their four seniors,
Marie Barnard (Millerstown, PA / Greenwood),
Allison Hampton (Ten Sleep, WY / Ten Sleep),
Breanna Ferguson (Saegertown, PA / Saegertown) and
Erin Ward (Euclid, OH / Lake Catholic). Barnard led the way with the first All-PAC Second Team finish of her career with a personal-best time of 20:38, followed by Hampton and Ferguson who tied for 22
nd place with a time of 21:18 (personal best for Ferguson). Ward crossed the finish line in 25
th place with a time of 21:20. Other finishers for Westminster were sophomore
Sadie Cunningham (Webster, NY / Webster Thomas) who finished 45
th with a time of 23:07, first-year Cherise Schultz (Home, PA / Marion Center Area) in 48
th with a time of 23:39 and junior
Kelly Somora (Grove City, PA / Grove City Area) who earned a 52
nd place time of 24:28.
The Titan men were led by graduate student
Evan Vent (Pittsburgh, PA / South Fayette), who finished 30
th with a time of 17:59. Senior
Harrison Keenan (Cranberry, PA / Cranberry) placed 39
th with a personal-best time of 18:51, while junior
Nathan Kraus (New Castle, PA / Shenango) crossed in 48
th place with a time of 19:17. Sophomore
Ian Jackson (Neshannock, PA / Neshannock) placed 50
th with a personal-best time of 19:20 and first-year
Joseph Armstrong (Pocono Summit, PA / Pocono Mountain West) finished 61
st with a time of 21:23. First-year
Caden Harsh (Pittsburgh, PA / Baldwin) rounded out the male runners for Westminster, coming in 62
nd place with a time of 22:14.
