LATROBE, Pa. – The Westminster College men's and women's cross country teams traveled to Latrobe, PA to compete in the Saint Vincent College Invitational on Saturday.
The Titan women placed fourth out of eight teams with a score of 108, while the Titan men finished eighth with a score of 209.
For the women, senior
Erin Ward (Euclid, OH / Lake Catholic) finished in fifth place out of 59 runners with a time of 20:30.
Senior
Marie Barnard (Millerstown, PA / Greenwood) was the next best finisher for the Titans, placing 22nd with a time of 22:09. Senior
Allison Hampton (Ten Sleep, WY / Ten Sleep) finished in 25
th place with a time of 22:21, while classmate
Breanna Ferguson (Saegertown, PA / Saegertown) finished in 26
th place with a time of 22:32. Sophomore
Sadie Cunningham (Webster, NY / Webster Thomas) finished 45
th with a time of 25:23. Rounding out the top finishers for Westminster was junior
Kelly Somora (Grove City, Pa / Grove City Area) who finished 51
st with a time of 26:06.
The Titan men were led by Graduate Student
Evan Vent (Pittsburgh, PA / South Fayette), who finished 32
nd with a time of 18:35. Junior
Nathan Kraus (New Castle, PA / Shenango) placed 43
rd with a time of 19:20 and senior
Harrison Keenan (Cranberry, PA / Cranberry) placed 46
th with a time of 19:35. Sophomore
Ian Jackson (Neshannock, PA / Neshannock) and freshman
Caden Harsh (Pittsburgh, PA / Baldwin) rounded out the male runners for Westminster, coming in 51
st and 67
th place, respectively, with times of 19:45 and 22:19.
Westminster will be back on the course on Saturday, March 6 when it competes at Saint Vincent again for another Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) meet.
