YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Westminster men's basketball team went up against Division I Youngstown State on the road Saturday afternoon. The Titans lost 83-54 in the nonconference matchup.
 
Back-to-back offensive rebounds by senior 
Josh Hutcherson (Uniontown, OH / Uniontown Lake) set up Westminster's (5-4) first points of the game as junior 
Tyler James (Youngstown, OH / Warren JFK) made a layup tying it at 2. Youngstown State (7-3) went on an 8-0 run to take a 10-2 lead and took its first double-digit lead at 18-6 with 12 minutes on the clock. A three by senior 
Anthony Ritter (North Lima, OH / South Range) cut the Penguins' lead to single digits (21-13). Westminster would make the score single digits one more time (23-14) with seven minutes left in the first half before YSU ended the frame on a 15-5 run to lead 38-19 at intermission. The Penguins maintained their double-digit lead for the remainder of the game.
 
Senior 
Daniel Ritter (North Lima, OH / South Range), a YSU transfer, led the Titans with 13 points. James also scored in double figures with 10. A. Ritter and junior 
Jordan Zupko (Mineral Ridge, OH / Mineral Ridge) added seven points each. Senior 
Josh Hutcherson (Uniontown, OH / Uniontown Lake) dominated the glass against his Division I counterparts with a game-high 11 rebounds. The Ritters and sophomore 
Andrew Clark (New Middletown, OH / Springfield Local) added six rebounds each. Hutcherson and Clark each had a team-high three blocks. A. Ritter tied a career-high with a game-high four steals.
 
The Titans are back on the court Tuesday, January 4 as they host Presidents' Athletics Conference (PAC) foe Franciscan at 8 p.m., part of a three-game homestretch.
