STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – The No. 3 seed Westminster men's soccer team lost, 1-0, on the road against No. 2 seed Franciscan in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament Semifinals Wednesday night.
As 10 seconds was being counted down at the conclusion of the first half, Franciscan (11-5) was able to get a shot off as Justin Fioramonti connected with Isaac Doyle on a touch pass inside the box and found the bottom left of the net for the eventual game-winning goal.
As the second half kicked off, Westminster (12-8) applied the pressure to the Barons, playing the majority of the half on Franciscan's side of the field. The Titans recorded 17 shots compared to the Barons' four in the second half, flustering Franciscan's goalie and hoping to register a game-tying goal. The Baron defense was able to sustain the bombardment of shots from Westminster.
Titan junior goalkeeper
Jad Jadallah (Canfield, OH / Canfield) tallied three saves in the complete-game effort. Franciscan's Jax Mautone collected seven saves.
Westminster outshot Franciscan (27-9) and bested them in shots-on-goal (7-4). The Titans also held the advantage in corner kicks (8-6).
