NEWARK, N.J. – The Westminster men's soccer team lost, 3-0, on the road in the first round of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament against Rutgers-Newark on Saturday afternoon.
During the first half, both Westminster and Rutgers-Newark (13-4-4) found themselves in a stalemate as neither team could muster a goal. The Titans tied the Scarlet Raiders in shots (8) while notching one shot-on-goal to Rutgers-Newark's four. At intermission, the game was deadlocked at zero.
As the second half kicked off, the defensive battle continued until Anthony Oliveira notched the first goal of the game, giving the Scarlet Raiders the slight advantage in the 68th minute. In the 73rd minute, Brandon Castro built on to Rutgers-Newark's lead, making it 2-0. The Titans were able to register nine shots, unfortunately not finding the back of the net. The Scarlet Raiders added one more goal to their lead in the 85th minute.

Jad Jadallah (Canfield, OH / Canfield) tallied six saves in the complete-game effort.
Westminster recorded 17 shots, three of which were on-goal, and had the advantage in corner kicks (8-5).
The Titans conclude their season with an overall record of 12-9 and a conference record of 7-2 under 24
