BETHANY, W. Va. – The Westminster football team won, 42-6, at Bethany in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest Saturday afternoon.

Titan senior quarterback Cole Konieczka (Coraopolis, PA / Moon Area) accounted for a career-high five total touchdowns, including tying a career-best four through the air. Konieczka led the Titan offense to five-straight touchdown-drives to start the game.

Westminster (6-2, 6-1 PAC) scored on its first possession when Konieczka connected with a familiar teammate sophomore Tylon Eilam (Sharon, PA / Sharon Area) for a 14-yard touchdown pass. On the Titans' ensuing drive, Konieczka found Eilam, again, this time from 32 yards out – marking the second-straight game Eilam has had multiple touchdown catches. Eilam now has seven receiving touchdowns on the season, three away from tying fifth all-time with Brian Lipiello (2001) and Dave Foley (1988) for most in a season. Konieczka extended Westminster's lead to 21-0 on its next possession with a 3-yard rushing touchdown. The Titans led 21-0 after one quarter of play.

Bethany (1-7, 1-6 PAC) scored its only points of the game when Dom Salinetro threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Chris Williams in the beginning of the second quarter. The Titans answered with a 10-play, 63-yard drive, capped off with a five-yard touchdown by senior Vincent Giles (Lexington Park, MD / Great Mills). Westminster orchestrated another 10-play drive on its following drive, this time for 78 yards, capped off with Konieczka tossing a 9-yard touchdown to junior tight end Damon Maul (Portage, PA / Cambria Heights). Bethany was finally able to force a Westminster punt less than two minutes remaining in the second quarter. The Titans led, 35-6, at halftime.

A nice 42-yard second half kickoff return by junior Luca Botti (Ellwood City, PA / Ellwood City) set up Konieczka's fourth touchdown pass – this time to sophomore Matthew Randza (Beaver Falls, PA / Blackhawk) for 41 yards.

Konieczka finished 12-of-18 for 199 yards and four touchdowns through the air, to go along with three carries for 11 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Titan senior Denny Dennison (Windson, PA / Red Lion Area) led all receivers with 64 yards off two receptions. Eilam finished with a team-high four catches for 60 yards and two scores. Junior Ryan Gomes (Tampa, FL / Walter L. Sickles) led all running backs with 42 yards off 10 carries.

The Titan defense held the Bison to only 22 yards rushing, the second-straight game Westminster has held its opponent to 25 or fewer yards on the ground. Senior Brayden Thimons (Natrona Heights, PA / Highlands) led the Titan defense with seven tackles, followed by senior Bryce Thomas (Saint Marys, GA / Camden County) with six (Thomas also had an interception taken away because of an offsides penalty on Westminster). First-year Mitchell Myers (Beaver Falls, PA / Beaver Falls) registered his first career collegiate sack.

The Titans next will be back home with a PAC contest against Saint Vincent on Saturday, Nov. 6. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
