NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster volleyball team swept the visiting Thiel Tomcats for their Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) homecoming match on Saturday morning to remain undefeated in conference play.
During the first set with the score 14-13 in favor of the Titans, Westminster (20-4, 12-0 PAC) went on a 5-0 run (19-13) to take control and then closed out the set (25-22) off a kill from senior
Becky Adelman (Randolph, OH / Waterloo). As the second set was coming to an end (19-19), the Titans gained momentum from three consecutive Thiel (7-16, 7-6 PAC) errors followed by three kills from Westminster which earned them a second set victory. The Titans caught fire in final set, scoring six consecutive points (7-1) and taking command of the set. Westminster rode their early lead all the way to a 25-11 win and completing the sweep.

Maya Steward (Los Angeles, CA / William Howard Taft) and Adelman tied for a match-high 13 kills. Sophomore
Lauren Lampus (Sarver, PA / Freeport Area) added to the offensive attack with a match-high three service aces. Senior
Samantha Kelly (Irwin, PA / Penn-Trafford) contributed to the onslaught with a match-high 33 assists. Locking it down on defense was Adelman with a match-high four blocks and sophomore
Malia Duffy (Allison Park, PA / North Allegheny) with a match-high 15 digs.
Westminster is back in action Tuesday, October 19 as it hosts Bethany for a conference bout. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
