Men’s Soccer: Iregui Launches Titans Past Waynesburg to Remain Undefeated in PAC Play

WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Westminster men's soccer team won, 5-1, on the road against Waynesburg in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup to remain undefeated in conference play on Saturday.
 
The Yellow Jackets scored first, however, the Titans responded with five unanswered goals.
 
At the 4:31 mark of the first half, Waynesburg (1-12, 0-6 PAC) struck first with a goal from Jake Hall. Five seconds later, Titan graduate student Nick Iregui (Gig Harbor, WA / Charles Wright Academy) tied the game. In the 34th minute, Westminster (10-5, 6-0 PAC) took the lead off of Iregui's second goal of the game. The Titans had a 2-1 lead at intermission.
 
As the second half kicked off, the Titans continued to apply the pressure to Waynesburg. Senior Marc Esqueda (San Bruno, CA / Junipero Serra) notched his third goal of the season off a pass from Iregui. Westminster built onto its 3-1 lead when Iregui once again the found the back of the net, marking his third goal of the game (team-high 12th goal of the season) and fourth career hat-trick. In the 80th minute, Iregui assisted junior Ivan Mojica (Santa Rosa, CA / Elsie Allen) with his first goal of the season, making the score 5-1.
 
Iregui tied a career-high eight points and earned his first hat-trick since 2018.
 
Titan junior goalkeeper Jad Jadallah (Canfield, OH / Canfield) registered five saves and earned the win in a complete-game effort.
 
Westminster outshot Waynesburg (20-8) and bested them in shots-on-goal (7-6). The Titans also had the advantage in corner kicks (3-2).
 
Westminster, riding on a seven-game winning streak, is back in action Wednesday, October 20 as it plays at Chatham under the lights in a PAC showdown. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
