NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College volleyball team swept Pitt-Greensburg in its home-opener Tuesday night.
The Titans won by double-digits in all three sets (25-12, 25-10, and 25-13).
Titan senior
Reilly DeGeorge (Ashtabula, OH / Saint John) earned a match-high eight kills, followed by sophomore
Maya Steward (Los Angeles, CA / William Howard Taft) with six. Sophomore
Becky Adelman (Randolph, OH / Waterloo) and first-year
Kaylee Sciubba (Tarentum, PA / Deer Lakes) added four kills each. Sophomore
Samantha Kelly (Irwin, PA / Penn-Trafford) dished out a match-high 18 assists, to go along with a match- and career-high six service aces. DeGeorge added four aces. Senior
Josie Toporcer (Warren, OH / Lordstown) led the Titan defense, as she tied a match-high with a team-high 12 digs. Sophomore
Maya Thornton (Clarion, PA / Clarion Area) registered nine digs. Steward and DeGeorge totaled eight and seven digs, respectively. Sciubba tallied a match-high five blocks, while sophomore
Shannon Sullivan (Pittsburgh, PA / Serra Catholic) earned a career-high two blocks.
Westminster is back in action at the four-match Penn State Behrend Invitational, starting on Friday, September 6 against Penn State Behrend at 4 p.m.
