BROCKPORT, N.Y.– The Westminster College men's soccer team dropped its season opener at The College at Brockport, 5-0, in a non-conference contest Saturday evening.
Westminster fell to 0-1 on the season, while Brockport improved to 1-1.
The reigning SUNYAC champions Brockport, who was receiving national votes, notched its first goal of the game to take a 1-0 lead in the 18
th minute. In the 27th minute, the Golden Eagles tallied two goals in a span of 23 seconds to extend their lead to 3-0 going into halftime.
In the second half, the Golden Eagles tallied two more goals to claim the 5-0 victory.
Senior
Ezra Cimino (Brookline, MA / Waldorf) started the first half in net for the Titans, and collected one save in the process. Freshman
Jad Jadallah (Canfield, OH / Canfield) manned the net in the second half, and notched a game-high five saves.
Westminster is back in action for its season opener on Wednesday, September 4 against Penn State Altoona. Start time is set for 5 p.m.
