GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Westminster College men's lacrosse team won, 15-5, at Thiel College for their first Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win of the season Saturday afternoon.
Westminster (4-5, 1-1 PAC) did not let Thiel (4-5, 0-2 PAC) score more than two goals in a quarter, while scoring five goals in the first quarter, three in the second, four in the third, and three in the fourth.
Nine different Titans earned a goal on Saturday, led by sophomore
Shane Fisher (Palm Harbor, FL / East Lake) and junior
Tyler Nordby (Burnt Hills, NY / Burnt Hills) who each had three goals. Juniors
Dante Serra (Center Valley, PA / Southern Lehigh) and
Adrian Culp (Gaithersburg, MD / Quince Orchard) both had a pair of goals.
Also adding a goal for Westminster were seniors
Ryan Shorts (Westlake Village, CA / Oak Park) and
Alex Kennedy (Moon Township, PA / Moon Area), juniors
Chris Slater (Plum, PA / Central Catholic) and
Dylan Wolford (Apex, NC / Apex), and freshman
Mike Roman (Fort Washington, PA / Germantown Academy). Shorts registered a game-high four points, as he dished out a game-high three assists, bringing his team-high point total to 30 for the season.
Shorts and senior
Matt Trella (Moon Twp, PA / Moon Area) both gathered in a team-high four ground balls, while
Alexander Hays (Wexford, PA / North Allegheny) earned a game-high three caused turnovers.
The Titans will next host Washington & Jefferson College Wednesday, April 10 at 7:30 p.m.
