NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College women's lacrosse team extended their winning streak to eight games as they won, 15-2, against Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Bethany College at home Saturday afternoon on Senior Day.
Westminster, in only its third year of existence, concluded the regular season with a perfect PAC record of 7-0.
Seniors
Emily D'Amico (Moon Township, PA / Moon Area) and
Emily Irvine (Cheswick, PA / Deer Lakes) were both honored before the game as the two members of the class of 2019.
Westminster (11-2, 7-0 PAC) had a 14-0 lead and held Bethany (3-10, 1-4 PAC) scoreless until the Bison got on the board with a goal at the 7:32 mark of the second half. The Titans scored one more goal, and sealed up a convincing win in their final PAC regular season game.
D'Amico and Irvine both entered the scoring column on Senior Day. D'Amico scored three goals, while Irvine netted a goal herself. D'Amico also picked up five ground balls in the contest, along with a team-high four caused turnovers. Juniors
Bria Braddock (Beaver Falls, PA / Blackhawk) and
Margo Mason (Pittsburgh, PA / Chartiers Valley) led the way offensively, with Braddock scoring four goals and Mason notching three. Braddock also had a team-high ten ground balls. First-year
Magen Polczynski (Irwin, PA / Norwin) scored two goals for the Titans. First-year goalkeeper
Emma Bradley (South Fayette, PA / South Fayette) registered five saves, and gave up only two goals in the win.
Westminster has clinched the top seed for the PAC Tournament, which begins Tuesday, April 30 at 6 p.m.
