LATROBE, Pa.- The Westminster College baseball team lost, 9-1, to Saint Vincent College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest on the road Wednesday afternoon. 
 
Westminster (11-19, 6-12 PAC) and Saint Vincent (18-14, 10-8 PAC) engaged in a pitcher's duel early on, as senior Cory Pullen (Wexford, PA / North Allegheny) kept the Bearcat bats quiet for the first three innings and neither team scored. Saint Vincent scored its first runs of the game in the fourth inning, tacking on six runs to take a 6-0 lead. The Bearcats notched two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to extend their lead to 8-0. Saint Vincent scored one more run in the seventh inning.  The Titans scored their only run in the game in the ninth inning when sophomore Vincent Morelli (Ambridge, PA / Ambridge Area) scored on an RBI-groundout by freshman Brandon Cooper (Oakdale, PA / West Allegheny).
 
Freshman Dawson Porter (Kittaning, PA / Armstrong) and juniors Tyler Barnot (Pittsburgh, PA / Bethel Park), Jaret Johnson (Niles, OH / Niles McKinley), and Frank Cinicola (Cranberry Township, PA / Seneca Valley) each recorded a hit for Westminster. Pullen tossed four innings, scattered eight hits, gave up six runs (five earned), and totaled three strikeouts.  Junior Emilio Rivera (Tampa, FL / Armwood) also threw two scoreless innings in relief for the Titans.
 
Westminster will be back on the diamond Saturday, April 27 when it travels to Bethany College for a PAC doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
