HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Westminster College women's tennis team lost, 5-4, to Millikin University in the final match of their South Carolina trip on Thursday.
 
Westminster (10-6) was up 2-1 after doubles competition; junior Margo Mason (Pittsburgh, PA / Chartiers Valley) and sophomore Casey Barton (New York City, NY / Dominican Academy) won at no. 1 (8-6) and sophomores McKenna Robinson (Pittsburgh, PA / Shaler) and Julia Serbati (Oil City, PA / Oil City Area) won at no. 2 (8-5).
 
The Titans took a 4-1 lead after junior Allyson Gitzen (Pittsburgh, PA / North Hills) won at no. 6 singles (6-1, 6-1) and Mason won at no. 1 singles (6-3, 6-3). Millikin (5-12), however won four-straight matches, including the match-deciding fifth singles with Alena Hinch edging Robinson, 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, 10-6.
 
Westminster will next compete Saturday, March 23 at Franciscan University at 1 p.m.
