Men’s Basketball: Pittsburgh Basketball Club Hall of Fame to Honor Buzz Ridl

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Westminster College legendary men's basketball coach Charles "Buzz" Ridl will be inducted posthumously into the Pittsburgh Basketball Club Hall of Fame this weekend.
 
Ridl, the Titan head men's basketball coach from 1956-68, guided Westminster to a 216-91 (.704) record, advancing twice to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) championship game, and twice to the semifinals. Overall, Ridl, who was selected as one of five coaches on the NAIA Golden Anniversary All-Star basketball team in 1986, took his team to the national tournament six times. And, in 1962, Ridl saw his Titans honored as the nation's top small-college basketball team. Ridl, who was also an accomplished basketball player for the Titans, was inducted into the Titan Sports Hall of Fame in 1964.
