GREENVILLE, Pa. - The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) announced the field for this week's Women's Soccer Championship Tournament after the completion of its regular season league schedule Saturday night.
The four-team women's soccer championship tournament, which will get underway Tuesday at campus sites, determines this year's PAC champion. The tournament winner will also receive the conference's automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III Championship, which begins the following week.
In Tuesday's first semifinal round, the top-seeded Titans (12-5-2, 7-0-1 PAC) and 18th-year head coach
Girish Thakar will host fourth-seeded Chatham University (7-6-4, 4-2-2 PAC), led by eighth-year head coach Betsy Warren.
Westminster, winners of five PAC titles since becoming eligible for the conference championship in 2002, enters this year's championship tournament as the No. 1 seed for the first time since 2005. The Titans won three-straight PAC championships from 2002-04 before winning back-to-back titles in 2006 and 2007. Chatham is making its fourth-straight championship tournament appearance. Tuesday will be the first meeting between Westminster and Chatham in the PAC Championship Tournament.
The winner will play the winner of Tuesday's second semifinal matchup between second-seeded Grove City College (10-6-2, 7-1 PAC) and third-seeded Washington & Jefferson College (6-8-3, 4-1-3 PAC) to decide the PAC Championship game.
Saturday's title match will be hosted by the highest-remaining seed following Tuesday's semifinal results. Information regarding this year's championship match will be announced after the completion of the semifinal round.
Team selections for the 64-team Division III Championship are scheduled to be announced Monday, Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. with an online selection show available at
