NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College women's soccer team defeated their Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opponent, Geneva College, by a score of 1-0 at home on Saturday.
Westminster finished the regular season with an overall record of 12-5-2 and was 7-0-1 in the PAC. Geneva rounded out the regular season with an overall record of 8-9-0 and was 3-5-0 in the PAC. Westminster ended the regular season without conceding a single goal in conference play and has rattled off six consecutive shutouts.
Senior forward
Kayla Trozzi (Monroeville, PA / Gateway) tallied the only goal of the contest in the 28
th minute to give Westminster a 1-0 lead, a lead it would hold for the rest of the contest.
The Titans outshot the Golden Tornadoes (29-9) and led in corner kicks (6-2).
Titan sophomore goalkeeper
Camille Holzschuh (Youngstown, OH / Boardman) collected six saves en-route to her fourth shutout in five contests.
With the win, Westminster clinched the No. 1 seed in the PAC Women's Soccer Championship Tournament. On Tuesday Nov. 5, the Titans will host fourth-seeded Chatham University in a semifinal matchup inside Harold Burry Stadium at 7 p.m.
