Women’s Soccer: Titans Fall to Chatham in PAC Semifinals

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College women's soccer team fell to Chatham University by a score of 1-0 at home in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Tournament Semifinals on Tuesday evening.

Westminster, the No. 1 seed, finished its schedule with an overall record of 12-6-2. Chatham, the No. 4 seed, improved to 8-6-4 and advanced to the title game.

The Titans and Cougars dueled in a back-and-forth contest that resulted in a 0-0 halftime score. Chatham outshot the Titans 7-4 in the first half, but sophomore goalkeeper Camille Holzschuh (Youngstown, OH / Boardman) was able to make four saves to keep the game deadlocked.

In the second half, the Titans generated pressure on the Cougars' back line in the form of eight shots, but Chatham struck the decisive blow when midfielder Paxton Steffy scored off of a redirected shot in the 66th minute. This marked the first goal Westminster gave up to a PAC counterpart this season.

The Titans narrowly outshot the Cougars (12-11), while Chatham led in corner kicks (3-2).

Holzschuh collected six saves in the complete-game effort. Sophomore Ashley Frank (Mentor, OH / Mentor) tied a game-high with two shots on goal. Senior forward Trozzi (Monroeville, PA / Gateway) was named to the PAC All-Tournament Team.
