Women’s Soccer: Titans Tie with Presidents in PAC Contest

WASHINGTON, Pa. - The Westminster College women's soccer team's contest at Washington & Jefferson ended in a 0-0 stalemate on Saturday.

The Titans (6-4-2, 1-0-1 PAC) generated all of the offense in the first half, as they tallied seven shots compared to zero for the Presidents (2-7-1, 0-0-1 PAC), including three shots on goal. Despite that, the Titans and Presidents remained tied at 0-0 at intermission.

In the second half, the Titans poured on 11 shots opposed to two for the Presidents, but were not able to break through as the game went to overtime and double overtime, eventually ending in a 0-0 tie.

Westminster bested the Presidents in shots (20-3) and corner kicks (7-0). Titan senior Kayla Trozzi (Monroeville, PA / Gateway) led with a game-high four shots, including two shots on goal. First-year Julia Redilla (Harmony, PA / Seneca Valley) was right behind with three shots.

Titan sophomore goalkeeper Camille Holzschuh (Youngstown, OH / Boardman) notched a pair of saves in the complete-game effort.

The Titans will return to the pitch on Wednesday, Oct. 9 when they take on Allegheny College on the road. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
