Volleyball: Titans Roll Past Tomcats On the Road

GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Westminster College volleyball team earned a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) shutout on the road with a 3-0 victory at Thiel College Thursday evening.

Westminster (24-5, 13-2 PAC) won by the scores of 25-20, 25-17, and 25-16. Thiel (10-18, 9-6 PAC) was tied with the Titans by a score of 3-3 in the second set, but that was the closest the Tomcats would be to obtaining a lead as Westminster never trailed in all three sets.

Titan sophomore Becky Adelman (Randolph, OH / Waterloo) led the offense with a match-high 14 kills and a .591 hitting percentage, followed by sophomore Maya Steward (Los Angeles, CA / William Howard Taft) (8). Adelman also registered a match-high six blocks. Senior Reilly DeGeorge (Ashtabula, OH / Saint John) and junior Megan Steele (Corry, PA / Corry) added six kills each. Sophomore Samantha Kelly (Irwin, PA / Penn-Trafford) tied a match-high with 19 assists, followed by junior Haley Moore (Greensburg, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) with 10. Senior Josie Toporcer (Warren, OH / Lordstown) led the defense with a match-high 21 digs. DeGeorge and Steward also had double-digit digs with 14 and 13 digs, respectively.

The Titans are back on the court Saturday, Nov. 2 at 6 p.m. as they host Geneva College for senior night inside Buzz Ridl Gymnasium.
