Volleyball: Titans Win, 3-1, at Pitt-Greensburg, Extend Win Streak to 13

GREENSGURG, Pa. – The Westminster College volleyball team won, 3-1, at Pitt-Greensburg in non-conference action Tuesday night.
 
The Titans improved to 17-1 overall, extending their win streak to 13. The Bobcats dropped to 0-15 on the season.
 
The Titans won set one convincingly, 25-8, however the Bobcats evened the match, 1-1, with a 25-18 set two victory. Westminster won set three in impressive fashion, 25-10, to take a 2-1 lead. Pitt-Greensburg was down, 20-13, in the third set, however got within one point of Westminster's lead (22-21). The Titans sealed the set and match after earning three-straight points, capped off with senior Shanna Daniels (Hermitage, PA / Billy C. Ryan) finding junior Reilly DeGeorge (Ashtabula, OH / Saint John) for the kill, to win 25-21.
 
DeGeorge registered match-highs in kills (13) and service aces (5). First-year Maya Steward (Los Angeles, CA / William Howard Taft) tallied 12 kills, while first-year Becky Adelman (Mogadore, OH / Waterloo) and senior Delaney Saxton (Cortland, OH / Brookfield) each had five kills. Daniels and first-year Samantha Kelly (Irwin, PA / Penn-Trafford) each had a team-high 12 assists. Senior Rachel Moore (Greensburg, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) added three service aces. Daniels and senior Mackensie Garris (Meadville, PA / Saegertown) each had a team-high six digs apiece. Junior Haley Farmerie (Manor, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) had a match-high five blocks, while Saxton had four.
 
The Titans are back in action Saturday, September 29 with a home tri-match. Westminster will play Grove City College at 10 a.m. and Saint Vincent College at 2 p.m.
