PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Westminster College women's soccer team earned its fourth shutout-victory of the season following a 3-0 win at La Roche College in a non-conference contest Tuesday night.
The Titans improved to 5-2 on the season, while the Redhawks dropped to 2-4.
Sophomore
Jocelyn Gillette (Natrona Heights, PA / Highlands) led the Titans with two goals, including the first of the game in the 39
th minute to put Westminster up, 1-0. The score remained the same at halftime.
Gillette netted her second goal of the game in the 66
th minute of the second half after receiving a pass from sophomore
Natalie Schwarz (Hudson, OH / Hudson). Gillette is now tied for a team-high three goals on the year.
Sophomore
Marissa Grande (Hubbard, OH / Hubbard) added to Westminster's lead late in the second half. The Titans had a 2-on-1 and junior
Kayla Trozzi (Monroeville, PA / Gateway) found Grande for the score. The goal was Grande's first of the season.
Titan first-year goalkeeper
Camille Holzschuh (Youngstown, OH / Boardman) collected four saves in 82:52 minutes of work.
The Titans outshot the Redhawks, 19-10, and held a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Westminster is back on the field Thursday, September 20 at Pitt-Bradford with a 4 p.m. start time.
