FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Westminster College women's lacrosse team defeated Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) opponent Franklin College, 20-17, on Saturday afternoon.

Bria Braddock (Beaver Falls, PA / Blackhawk) and junior
Emily D'Amico (Moon Township, PA / Moon Area) each tied the school record for goals in a game with eight. D'Amico set the record earlier this season on March 30 at home against conference opponent Chatham University. Braddock also set school records in ground balls (game-high 11) and draw controls (game-high 12). Westminster's 20 goals broke the school record for goals in a single game.
Franklin (3-7, 3-6 ORLC) struck first with a goal (1-0) at the 26:16 mark of the first half. Westminster (4-7, 4-4 ORLC) answered two and a half minutes later with a goal from D'Amico, tying the game at one. After a Franklin goal (2-1/21:54), the Titans went on a 3-0 run, capped off by a Braddock score at the 17:35 mark of the first (4-2). The Grizzles scored two goals in just 10 seconds to tie the game at four with 16:40 left to go in the frame. The Titans went on another 3-0 run over the span of seven minutes to take a 7-4 lead with 6:56 to play in the first. Franklin got within two goals (7-5), but D'Amico scored with just four seconds to spare at the end of the first half to give Westminster an 8-5 lead at the end of one.
Within the first 10 minutes of the second half, Westminster outscored Franklin, 3-2, all scored by D'Amico, to lead 11-7. After a Franklin goal (11-8) with 16:37 to play, Braddock scored four-straight goals, the last at the 14:39 mark, to give Westminster a 15-8 lead. The Grizzlies, starting at the 14:17 mark, went on a 3-0 run capped off by a Brooke Hughes goal with 12:38 to play to pull within four (15-11). D'Amico (12:14) and sophomore
Michaela Hays (Blairsville, PA / Blairsville) (11:32) answered with a goal apiece to take a 17-11 lead. The Grizzlies fueled another 3-0 run, capped off by a goal from Jess Silva at the 6:04 mark to pull within three, 18-15, of the Titans' lead. Braddock, however, scored two goals in 22 seconds (5:24/5:02) to give Westminster a five-goal lead (20-15). Franklin scored the final two goals of the contest.
Braddock finished with two assists, to go along with her record breaking performance. D'Amico registered six ground balls and two draw controls. Hays finished with two goals, one assist and two ground balls. First-year

Matalyn Holland (Pittsburgh, PA / Shaler Area) registered 14 saves in a complete-game effort.
Westminster led in shots-on-goal, 35-31, and 36-25 in ground balls.
Westminster is back in action Sunday, April 22 at conference foe Earlham College. Start time is set for 11 a.m.
