Box Score GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Westminster College softball team won its 12
th-straight game after a 2-1 victory at Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Thiel College Wednesday afternoon. Game two of the originally scheduled doubleheader has been postponed for another date.
The 12 consecutive wins are the fourth-longest in school history.
Westminster (14-5, 5-0 PAC) did all of its scoring during its first at-bat of the game. With one out, junior
Kailey Liverman (Purcellville, VA / Loudoun Valley) connected on a two-run double to center field. Senior
Addie Dieterich (Purcellville, VA / Loudoun Valley) and senior
Alexa Owrey (New Castle, PA / Shenango) both scored on the play. Thiel (7-14, 2-3 PAC) scored its lone run in the bottom of the second inning, after Alexa Fike hit an RBI-single.
Titan senior pitcher
Jazmyn Rohrer (Purcellville, VA / Woodgrove) (11-1) earned the win with a one-run complete-game, while striking out 12 batters – marking the sixth time this season Rohrer has registered double-digit strikeouts. The 12 Ks also tie for second most this year for the senior. Rohrer struck out at least two batters in five of the seven innings, including two innings where she struck out the side.
Each team had four hits; Liverman led the Titans with two.
Westminster is back in action Friday, April 13 with a home doubleheader against Grove City College in conference play, starting at 3:30 p.m.
