LATROBE, Pa. – The Westminster College men's tennis team lost, 5-4, at Saint Vincent College in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Wednesday.
The Titans, who's three-match winning streak snapped, dropped to 3-7 overall and 2-3 in the PAC, while the Bearcats improved to 6-7 overall and 3-1 in league play.
All four of Westminster's wins came at the singles competition. Titan freshman
Miguel Ascencio (Venitia, PA / Peters Township) won at number one singles, 6-2, 6-2, extending his winning streak at that position to six. Senior
A.J. May (Butler, PA / Butler) won number three singles, 6-3, 6-2. Senior
Kornel Foremski (Shaker Heights, OH / Shaker Heights) won his sixth-straight number four singles match (6-7, 6-4, 10-2). Freshman
Collin Kelly (McDonald, PA / Canon MacMillan), the PAC Men's Rookie of the Week, also extended an individual winning streak as he won his fourth-straight match at number five singles in comeback fashion, 5-7, 7-5, 10-2.
Westminster will next host Thiel College Saturday, April 14 at 10 a.m.
