NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College women's basketball team won, 59-46, over non-conference foe University of Pittsburgh Greensburg in its home opener Tuesday evening.

In the third quarter, the Titans led by as much as 16 points following a layup by Mathews with 2:53 on the clock. Westminster led 45-31 after three quarters. Westminster maintained its double-digit lead in the fourth, while having its largest of the contest (48-31) after a three by Mathews early in the quarter.
Three Titans scored in double-digits, led by Mathews with 16 points - who tied a season-high with a game-high four three-pointers. Polczynski scored a career-high 13 points, followed by Fromknecht with 12. Junior

Francesca Sicari (Erie, PA / McDowell) led the Titans on the glass with a career-high eight rebounds, while Fromknecht had six. Sicari and Fromknecht each had a team-high five assists. Mathews pocketed a team-high three steals. Fromknecht also earned a game-high four blocks and now has 91 career blocks – two shy from tying Erica Tallo (2001-05) for the school record.
Westminster outshot Pitt-Greensburg 37.3% (22-59) to 29.6% (16-54) and outrebounded the Bobcats, 42-40.
The Titans are back in action Monday, November 26 with a non-conference game on the road at Allegheny College with a 7 p.m. tipoff.
