LATROBE, Pa. – The Westminster College volleyball team won, 3-1, at Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Saint Vincent College in its regular season finale Saturday afternoon.
The Titans improved to 29-2 overall and 15-1 in the PAC, while the Bearcats dropped to 9-17 overall and 5-11 in conference play.
The Titans were in control of the first set taking their first double-digit lead at 14-4 and its largest lead of the frame at 24-9 for a convincing 25-10 win. The Bearcats held a 5-3 lead in the second set, however, Westminster went on a 9-0 run to take a 12-5 lead. The Titans maintained their lead and won set two, 25-16. The Bearcats took their first lead in the third set, 24-23. Westminster tied it at 24, but Saint Vincent scored two-straight points to capture set three, 26-24. Down 5-3 early in the fourth set, Westminster came alive and outscored the Bearcats 22-4 for a 25-9 dominant set three victory.

Reilly DeGeorge (Ashtabula, OH / Saint John) led the Titan offense as she tied a career-high with a match-high 18 kills. Senior
Delaney Saxton (Cortland, OH / Brookfield) also had double-digit kills with 13. First-year
Becky Adelman (Mogadore, OH / Waterloo) added eight kills, while classmate
Maya Steward (Los Angeles, CA / William Howard Taft) had five. First-year
Samantha Kelly (Irwin, PA / Penn-Trafford) dished out a match-high 21 assists, while senior
Shanna Daniels (Hermitage, PA / Billy C. Ryan) earned 18. Daniels and classmate
Mackensie Garris (Meadville, PA / Saegertown) led the Titans with two service aces apiece. Senior
Rachel Moore (Greensburg, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) led the defense with a match-high 33 digs, her sixth 30-plus dig performance of the season. DeGeorge (17), Daniels (14), and Kelly (10) also registered double-digit digs. Adelman, Saxton, and junior
Haley Farmerie (Manor, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) each had a team-high three blocks.
Westminster has clinched the top seed and hosting rights for the PAC Tournament Semifinal and Final Rounds, which begin on Friday, Nov. 2. The Titans will play the winner of the Quarterfinals match between fifth-seeded Grove City College and fourth-seeded Geneva College in the first of two Semifinals at 6 p.m. on Friday.
