LATROBE, Pa. – The Westminster College men's soccer team blanked Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Saint Vincent, 3-0, on the road Saturday afternoon.
The Titans, earning their seventh-shutout victory of the season, improved to 9-3 overall and 3-1 in the PAC. The Bearcats fell to 1-11-1 overall and 0-3-1 in the league.
Junior
Peter Mattocks (Saegertown, PA / Saegertown) put the Titans in front, 1-0, with a goal in the 20
th minute after junior
Ahmed Cisse (Germantown, MD / Clarksburg) found him with a through ball. Mattocks scored his second goal of the game after gathering in a rebound in the 62
nd minute, and the Titans led 2-0. Mattocks now has nine goals on the year.
Freshman
Payton Goodwin (Pittsburgh, PA / Plum) added the third goal of the game, the first of his career, in the 75
th minute.
Westminster outshot Saint Vincent, 22-3, including 11-1 on-goal. Titan junior goalkeeper
Ezra Cimino (Brookline, MA / Waldorf) had a save in a complete-game effort.
The Titans will play at Bethany College Wednesday, October 17 at 4 p.m.
