PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Westminster College women's soccer team won, 2-1, in double overtime against Carlow University in non-conference action on Saturday. The game took place at Highmark Stadium.
Carlow (4-2) scored the lone goal in the first half and led 1-0 at halftime.
Titan first-year
Marissa Grande (Hubbard, OH / Hubbard) tied the game with the first goal of her collegiate career in the second half.
In double overtime, junior
Keely Birsic (North Ridgeville, OH / Elyria Catholic) scored the game-winner after receiving a pass from Grande. Birsic is now tied for the most goals on the team with four.
Westminster senior goalkeeper
Laura Page (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) went the complete game between the pipes.
The Titans (5-2) next compete tomorrow at No. 15 Carnegie Mellon University. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
