Women’s Soccer: Titans Fall to Regionally Ranked Susquehanna

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Westminster College women's soccer team lost to Susquehanna University, 2-1, on Sunday evening. Susquehanna entered tonight's contest regionally ranked at number nine in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Susquehanna scored first in the seventh minute from forward Alyssa Bolger, with the assist coming from Grayclynn Juckes. The River Hawks extended the lead in the second half with a goal from midfielder Kate Cantrell. Cantrell received a pass from Chloe Eisenhuth, scoring her second goal of the season.

Titan junior Keely Birsic (North Ridgeville, OH / Elyria Catholic) put the Titans on the board in the 88th minute, totaling three goals on the year. Sophomore Kiana Kawarizadeh (New Albany, OH / New Albany) finished with one shot on goal. Titan senior goalie Laura Page (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) finished with five saves on the night.

Westminster's record fell to 3-2, while Susquehanna's record improved to 6-0-1 on the year.

The Titans' next match is at home on Tuesday, September 19 at 7:30 p.m. against La Roche College.
