NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College softball team swept Thiel College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) doubleheader at home on Saturday.
The Titans won game one, 2-0, and won, 7-6, in eight innings in game two after a walk-off single by junior
Courtney Dieterich (Purcellville, VA / Loudoun Valley).

Jazmyn Rohrer (Purcellville, VA / Woodgrove) improved to 15-1 after picking up both wins. In game one, Rohrer earned her fifth complete-game shutout, while only allowing two hits. She struck out six and walked two. In game two, Rohrer came in for relief and only allowed one run (none earned) on two hits in 4.0 innings.

Checka Nardone (City, PA / Lincoln) singled home junior
Hannah Ritter (Front Royal, VA / Skyline) in the third inning to put the Titans in front 1-0. Later in the inning, Nardone scored off an error by Thiel's right fielder. The Titans outhit the Tomcats, 4-2, led by Nardone with two hits.
In the second game, Thiel (12-18, 7-7 PAC) took a 2-0 lead with two runs in the first. Westminster (25-7, 13-1 PAC) tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the first; sophomore
Kailey Liverman (Purcellville, VA / Loudoun Valley) scored junior
Emiley Westfall (Jefferson, OH / Perry) with a sacrifice fly, followed by another sacrifice fly by junior
Courtney Cohen (New Wilmington, PA / Wilmington), bringing home Nardone. The Tomcats put three runs on the scoreboard in the third inning and led 5-2. In the fourth, Cohen homered, her team-leading second home run on the season, cutting Thiel's lead to 5-3.
Courtney Dieterich tied the game, 5-5, in the sixth with a two-run single, bringing home junior
Addie Dieterich (Purcellville, VA / Loudoun Valley) and sophomore
Makena Baumgardner (Summerhill, PA / Forest Hills). In the top of the eighth inning, Thiel went in front, 6-5, off a Titan error. In the bottom of the eighth, Titan senior
Abby Rinard (Medina, OH / Highland) scored the tying run with a single to left center field, scoring Cohen.
Courtney Dieterich followed with an RBI-single, scoring Rinard for the game-winning run. Thiel outhit Westminster, 9-8. Cohen,
Courtney Dieterich, and Rinard each registered two hits.
The Titans are back on the field Tuesday, April 25 when they travel to Grove City College for a PAC doubleheader. Game one is set for 3:30 p.m.
