LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Westminster College men's lacrosse team lost, 18-3, at Transylvania University in Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC) action Saturday afternoon.
Transylvania (6-3, 3-0 ORLC) led 4-1 at halftime and pulled away with nine goals in the third quarter. The Pioneers added five more goals in the fourth, while Westminster (4-3, 1-1 ORLC) scored two.
Titan sophomore
Ryan Shorts (Westlake Village, CA / Oak Park) scored the first goal of the game, his team-leading 22
nd on the season, with 10:29 to play in the first quarter. Freshman
Adrian Culp (Gaithersburg, MD / Quince Orchard) netted the final two Titan goals in the fourth (13:04, 1:09). Culp's second goal was assisted by Shorts. Culp now has 15 goals for the season.
The Pioneers outshot the Titans 57-16, including 30-7 on goal, and held a 30-26 advantage in ground balls. Titan freshman
Chris Ryczaj (Pittsburgh, PA / Central Catholic) gathered in a game-high five ground balls. Westminster sophomore
Carter Hall (Zeeland, MI / Zeeland West) collected 12 saves in a complete-game effort.
Westminster is back on the field Tuesday, April 4 with a home game versus Neumann University at 2 p.m.
