FREDERICK, Md. – The Westminster College men's lacrosse team lost, 18-5, at Hood College in a non-conference game Saturday afternoon.

Ray Shalvoy (Rochester, NY / East Rochester) scored a team-high three goals. Titan sophomore goalkeeper

Reid Lutz (Pittsburgh, PA / West Allegheny) registered a team-best four ground balls, while sophomore
Matt Trella (Moon Twp, PA / Moon Area) had three.
The Blazers outshot the Titans 54-15, including 36-9 on goal, and had a 45-21 advantage in ground balls.
Hood (2-2) scored first with a goal by Alexander Elliott with 8:37 remaining in the first quarter. Westminster (1-1) answered when Shalvoy scored his first point of the season with a goal at the 7:05 mark, tying the game at 1. Adrian Culp (Gaithersburg, MD / Quince Orchard) scored his third goal on the season, followed by another goal by Shalvoy, and Hood led 7-3 early in the frame. Hood went up 9-3 after two more goals with 10:41 on the clock. Shalvoy's third goal cut the Blazers' lead to 9-4 with 7:48 left. Following three more goals by Hood, the Blazers led 12-4 at halftime. Trella scored the lone goal in the third, his second on the season, and the Blazers led 12-5 after three. Hood outscored Westminster 6-0 in the fourth.
The Titans are back in action Saturday, March 11 with a home game against Neumann University, starting at 1 p.m.
