Men’s Basketball: Westminster Drops PAC Game at Thomas More

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – The Westminster College men's basketball team lost, 98-83, at Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Thomas More College Wednesday evening.

Four Titans scored in double-digits. Junior Jarret Vrabel (Canfield, OH / Canfield) led with 19 points, to go along with a team-high eight rebounds, a game-high two blocks, and a steal. Junior Brandon Domenick (New Castle, PA / New Castle) (16), sophomore Austin Armwood (Columbus, OH / Westerville North) (14), and freshman Cameron Kane-Johnson (Niles, OH / Niles) (13) also scored in double-figures. Junior Deontay Scott (Youngstown, OH / East) added nine points and seven rebounds. Domenick and Armwood each dished-out a team-high five assists. Senior Jason Pilarski (Pittsburgh, PA / Brentwood) added a steal.

The Saints outshot the Titans 47.8% (33-69) to 44.6% (29-65) and outrebounded Westminster 47-34.

Westminster (14-8, 10-5 PAC) took its first lead, 16-15, when Domenick made a three-pointer with 14:33 remaining in the first half. Thomas More (16-6, 12-3 PAC) had its largest lead of the frame (22-16) with 13:31 remaining, while Westminster had its largest lead (28-26) after Pilarski made a three with 9:28 on the clock. Thomas More held a 48-47 lead at intermission. Westminster was down by as much as nine points, but was able to cut the Saints' lead to 80-76, following a three by Armwood, with 5:08 left in the game. That, however, would be the closest the Titans would get as the Saints outscored Westminster 18-7 for the remainder of the game.

The Titans will next play at Grove City College on Saturday, Feb. 11 with a 3 p.m. start time.
