Men’s Basketball: Titans Drop PAC Game to Saint Vincent on Senior Day

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College men's basketball team lost, 73-66, to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Saint Vincent College on Senior Day Saturday afternoon.
 
Three Titans scored in double-digits, led by junior Deontay Scott (Youngstown, OH / East) and junior Jarret Vrabel (Canfield, OH / Canfield) who each scored 14 points.  Freshman Lloyd Chatman (Reynoldsburg, OH / Reynoldsburg) also scored in double figures with a career-high 13 points (5-for-6 from the field, including 3-for-4 from three-point range). Sophomore Austin Armwood (Columbus, OH / Westerville North) and freshman Cameron Kane-Johnson (Niles, OH / Niles) registered eight and seven points, respectively. Senior Brandon Domenick (New Castle, PA / New Castle) added six points. Scott grabbed down a team-best eight rebounds, while Vrabel had seven. Kane-Johnson dished-out a team-high four assists. Vrabel led the team with two blocks and tied with sophomore African Grant II (Warren, OH / Warren JFK) with a team-best two steals.
 
The Bearcats outshot the Titans 56.8% (25-44) to 34.3% (23-67) and held a 38-36 advantage in rebounds.
 
There were a total of 15 lead changes in the game. In the first half, Westminster (15-10, 11-7 PAC) had its largest lead of five points twice, with the latest coming with 8:56 remaining (19-14). Saint Vincent (19-6, 15-3 PAC) went on an 8-2 run to take a 22-21 lead with 5:26 on the clock. The Bearcats led 31-30 at intermission. In the second half, the Titans led 46-45 with 11:40 to play. The Bearcats orchestrated a 15-3 run and led 60-49 with 6:29 left. The Titans cut the Saints' lead to 68-64 after Kane-Johnson made a three-pointer with 1:14 to play, but that would be the closest they would come for the remainder of the game.
 
Westminster has clinched the fourth seed for the 2016-17 PAC Tournament and will host fifth-seeded Bethany College on Tuesday, February 21 at 7 p.m.
