NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College volleyball team swept Thiel College in three sets in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action at home Tuesday night.
The Titans won set one, 25-12, set two, 25-17, and set three, 25-13. The Titans hit .288 for the match, including .375 in the first set.
Senior
Lexie Yoho (Pittsburgh, PA / Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) led the Titan offense with a match-high 14 kills. Sophomore
Reilly DeGeorge (Ashtabula, OH / Saint John) and junior
Delaney Saxton (Cortland, OH / Brookfield) added eight and five kills, respectively. Junior
Shanna Daniels (Hermitage, PA / Billy C. Ryan) tied a match-high with 20 assists and tied with senior
Kendell Dickson (Cochranton, PA / Cochranton) and DeGeorge for a match-best two service aces. Dickson guided the Westminster defense with 18 digs, followed by junior
Rachel Moore (Greensburg, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) (17) and DeGeorge (9). Yoho also had a match-high four blocks, followed by Saxton (2). Junior
Ashley Barker (Warren, PA / Warren Area) added nine assists.
The Titans improved to 14-4 overall and 6-2 in the PAC, while the Tomcats dropped to 7-12 overall and 1-7 in the conference.
Westminster will next compete at Geneva College's tri-match on Saturday, Oct. 7. The Titans will play Waynesburg University at 12 p.m. and Geneva at 2 p.m.
