NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College women's soccer team shut out Bethany College, 3-0, in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest at home Wednesday evening for its fifth-straight victory.
The Titans, earning their fifth shutout of the season, improved to 10-5 overall and 5-1 in the PAC. The Bison dropped to 5-11 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
Westminster has now outscored its opponents 16-1 in the past four matches.
The Titans did not waste any time putting their first goal on the scoreboard as junior
Keely Birsic (North Ridgeville, OH / Elyria Catholic) found sophomore
Kaelyn Puhalla (Youngstown, OH / Austintown-Fitch) for a goal on the opening kickoff. Puhalla now has five goals on the season.
Westminster led, 1-0, at halftime.
Birsic added insurance for the Titans in the second half with two goals. The first one came at the 74
th minute from a 15-yard free kick. Her second score came in the 80
th minute off a deflection inside the box. Birsic now has a team-leading eight goals for the year.
The Titans outshot the Bison, 18-1, including 8-0 on goal. Westminster also held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Laura Page (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) earned the win with 90 minutes between the pipes.
Westminster will next compete at PAC foe Washington & Jefferson College on Saturday, Oct. 21 for a 1 p.m. matchup.
