NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College women's tennis team lost, 7-2, at home to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Grove City College Friday evening for its regular season finale.
The conference loss was the Titans' first of the season. Westminster dropped to 9-4 overall and 7-1 in the PAC, while the Wolverines improved to 8-3 overall and 6-0 in the league.
Westminster's two wins came in doubles, as senior
Gabriele Eaborn (Coraopolis, PA / West Allegheny) and first-year
Julia Serbati (Oil City, PA / Oil City Area) won, 8-3, at No. 1 doubles and sophomore
Alex Marzouca (Miami, FL / Immaculate Conception) and senior
Patricia Pivaronas (Saxonburg, PA / Knoch) teamed up for a 9-7 victory at No. 2 doubles.
The Titans will look to defend their PAC Championship at the two-day 2017 PAC Championship Tournament, starting on Friday, October 20 at the Pennbriar Athletic Club in Erie, Pa. Westminster has shared or won outright PAC team titles in four of the last five years.
