Volleyball: Titans Blank Grove City, Win Sixth-Straight

GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Westminster College volleyball team shut out Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Grove City College, 3-0, on the road Tuesday evening for its sixth-straight win.
 
Westminster won set one, 25-16, set two, 25-13, and set three, 25-21.
 
The Titans never trailed in set one and first-year Hannah Santom (Grove City, PA / Grove City) won set point with a kill. In set two, Westminster, up 13-10, ended the set with a 12-3 run. Sophomore Allison Rebich (Erie, PA / Mercyhurst Prep.) scored set point with a kill after receiving a pass from Santom. Grove City kept it close in set three with a late 19-18 lead. Set three was tied at 21, however, the Titans won the set and the match after winning four-straight points. Junior Shanna Daniels (Hermitage, PA / Billy C. Ryan) won the set and the match with a service ace.
 
Senior Lexie Yoho (Pittsburgh, PA / Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) led the Titan offense with a match-high 12 kills and registered a match-best three blocks. Junior Delaney Saxton (Cortland, OH / Brookfield) and sophomore Reilly DeGeorge (Ashtabula, OH / Saint John) tallied seven kills each. DeGeorge also tied a match-high with two service aces and led the Titan defense with 13 digs, to go along with two blocks. Senior Kendell Dickson (Cochranton, PA / Cochranton) and junior Rachel Moore (Greensburg, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) earned 10 and nine digs, respectively. Daniels dished out a match-high 22 assists and added eight digs. Santom had 11 assists.
 
Westminster improved to 17-4 overall and 9-2 in the PAC, while Grove City dropped to 9-13 overall and 6-5 in the conference.
 
The Titans are back on the court Thursday, Oct. 12 with a home PAC showdown against Bethany College at 7 p.m. Bethany is currently second in the PAC standings, while Westminster is third.
