NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Westminster College men's basketball team lost, 75-73, to Geneva College in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action at home Wednesday night.
Senior
Jason Pilarski (Pittsburgh, PA / Brentwood) led all scorers, while tying a season-high with 19 points. Junior
Deontay Scott (Youngstown, OH / East) scored 17 points, while freshman
Cameron Kane-Johnson (Niles, OH / Niles) had 16. Senior

Austin Armwood (Columbus, OH / Westerville North) registered eight and five points, respectively. Pilarski earned his first double-double of the season after tallying a game-high 11 rebounds. Scott had six boards, while Kane-Johnson earned five. Armwood, Kane-Johnson, and junior
Brandon Domenick (New Castle, PA / New Castle) led the Titans with three assists apiece. Pilarski added two steals.
Westminster (10-6, 6-3 PAC) outshot Geneva (8-8, 5-4 PAC) 45.0% (27-60) to 42.4% (28-66) and outrebounded the Golden Tornadoes 42-36.
The game consisted of 10 ties and 11 lead changes.
In the first half, Geneva led 23-16 with 8:37 on the clock. Westminster orchestrated a 13-6 run to tie the game at 29 with 5:21 remaining. The Titans followed that with a 12-7 run to take their largest lead of the half, 41-36, with 47 seconds left. The game was tied, 41-41, at halftime. Down 46-42 early in the second half, Westminster mustered a 12-2 run to its largest lead of the game, 54-48, with 14:54 remaining. Geneva answered with an 8-0 run and led 56-54 with 11:11 on the clock. Westminster was down 61-57 with 9:12 to play, but went on a 11-3 run to take a 68-64 lead, after a three-pointer by Armwood, with 4:09 left. Tied 73-73, Geneva's Chase Vaudrin made two free throws with five seconds remaining to put the Golden Tornadoes up 75-73. The Titans had a chance to tie the game with less than a second remaining, but two free throws came up short.
Westminster will next play at Thiel College on Saturday, January 21 with a 3 p.m. start time.
